What are we really capturing each time we take a photograph? To every individual, they mean different things. It may be to remember what a holiday looked like, it could be to capture the first moment your child went to school, or maybe to capture an evidence of a crime (sorry, profession hazard).

For me, this is what I think of when I look at pictures that I have taken in the past. (When I say past, that includes the last picture in my phone taken 5 minutes ago) It is a moment, which will never be recreated again. The leaves would never fall in the exact same way once more, a flower would never have the same dents. the wind will never blow in that same speed again to recreate what was captured. It is the same when I look at pictures from the past of people.

It is nothing but a fleeting moment, that has been captured and frozen eternally. It may not mean anything now, but wait till photographs are all that you're left with to remember a feeling, or someone when they are no longer around.

Oh yeah, Happy New Year! May this year bring nothing but more special memories to add to our personal collections, and may you have many beautiful moments captured to share with your dear ones.

Love,

Naia Ash
